I've tried this recipe with chickpeas and pinto beans, as well as pinto beans and black beans and both turned out great.

INGREDIENTS: (recipe should make 6-8 patties/ use half cans for 4-5 patties)
1 can chickpeas
1 can pinto beans
1 cup oats (roughly ground)
1/2 tbsp chili/cayenne pepper
1 tbsp paprika
1 tbsp curry powder
1 tbsp coriander
Olive oil
Salt+pepper
HOW TO MAKE THE BEST BLACK BEAN BURGER:
Rinse and drain beans. Blot them with a paper towel to remove any extra moisture. Place both beans in a large bowl and mash well with a fork. If too difficult, you can use a blender or food processor. Just do not over blend the beans. Keep some whole and rough.
Season beans. Add the bean "meat" mixture to a large bowl. Roughly ground oats and add to bowl. Add the chili/cayenne powder, coriander, paprika, and salt and pepper and stir to combine. Stir in bread crumbs if mixture is too wet and sticky.
Form patties. Make the mixture into 4 or 5 patties.
Grill or bake. Grill the burgers on a well oiled grill for about 4-5 minutes on each side. Bake them at 375 degrees F on a lightly oiled baking sheet, for 10 minutes on each side.
